South Neighborhood

Close to all your favorite sporting events and home to James Madison College and the engineering CoRe Experience

South Neighborhood is located southwest of Spartan Stadium between West Shaw Lane and Trowbridge Road. It is near the Breslin Center, Munn Ice Arena, IM Sports West and outdoor tennis facilities. South Neighborhood is made up of four residence halls (Case, Holden, Wilson and Wonders halls), which all feature coed floors and suite-style rooms. Close proximity to the Engineering Building, Anthony Hall, the Communication Arts and Sciences building, and Wells Hall make South Neighborhood the perfect location for a variety of areas of study. Students have a variety of dining options available, including two Sparty’s mini-markets and a spacious dining hall in Case. Additionally, Holden features a unique Grab & Go location with hot and cold selections.

James Madison College, a residential college housed in Case Hall, is an amazing option for students interested in studying public policy, political theory, social relations and more. South Neighborhood also has the CoRE Experience, an inclusive living-learning community for first-year engineering students.

Case Hall

Case Hall was renovated in 2011 and is known by Spartans for its high-tech, interactive design and being the perfect on-campus spot to grab a bite with friends. The hall houses the James Madison College and offers an Honors College living-learning option, too.

A wide sidewalk leads up to Case Hall, a brown building surrounded by green trees and bushes.
